WEHI, previously known as the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, based in Melbourne, is Australia's most prominent medical research institute.

WEHI Ventures was established in July 2023 to manage a strategic investment fund for WEHI. The agile team, supported by an experienced Investment Committee, is investing A$66M (US$43M/€37M) over 10 years in early-stage drug discovery and development. The fund targets pre-seed, seed, and Series A opportunities, building a portfolio around novel first-in-class therapeutics and platforms. Leveraging WEHI’s strong, unique scientific research and commercial track record, WEHI Ventures connects Australian R&D with global co-investment partners.
