Basic Info

Ternarx is a pre-clinical therapeutics company building a discovery engine and differentiated pipeline of targeted protein degrader drugs in chronic diseases with high unmet need.

Ternarx was established in 2024 through a A$15 million grant awarded to a collaboration between WEHI, Monash University, and the Children’s Cancer Institute from the Australian Government to build sovereign capabilities in targeted protein degradation. Ternarx leverages local world-class expertise in targeted protein degradation and indications with significant unmet clinical need yet with validated, but difficult-to-drug, targets.

In February 2026, Ternarx announced it had secured a significant investment from US and local investors, Curie.Bio and WEHI Ventures. The capital is supporting the creation of a US-based spin-out company, Ternarx Bio, Inc., to advance Ternarx’s lead program in prostate cancer.

Ternarx is a spin out company from the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI) and is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia.
